Queen's Health System Office Coordinator - Surgical Transplant (Full-Time, Day, 40) in Honolulu, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinates the office activities of the department.
• Provides administrative and logistic support.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Frequent: sitting, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Occasional: standing, walking, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, reaching above, at and below shoulder level. Depending upon area of assignment may lift and/or carry usual weight up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds of force.
• Operates computer, copier, telephone and facsimile.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Two (2) years experience in an office medical setting or related experience in area of assignment.
• Experience to demonstrate:
o Knowledge of medical terminology.
o Knowledge and ability to operate a computer and its applications for word processing software and spreadsheets
o Knowledge and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
o Knowledge of billing functions, preferably in Medicaid, Medicare, Third Party payer requirements, SNF/ICF, ICD-10 and DRG’s.
• Experience with EPIC systems preferred.
