Queen's Health System Mail/Courier (Full Time, 40, Day) in Honolulu, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Processes interdepartmental mail and distributes incoming/outgoing mail for the Medical Center; e.g. Main Hospital towers, POBs, Queen’s Conference Center, HR Service Center, Harkness, Lauhala, Clark Apartments, etc., according to prescribed schedules and procedures.

• Performs the scheduled distribution, control and handling of materials between the Medical Center and customers and other institutions by fleet vehicle, according to prescribed schedules and procedures.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Essential: standing, sitting, walking, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing; lifting and carrying weight up to 50 pounds; maximum pushing/pulling weight up to 50 pounds of force; reaching above, at and below shoulder level; repetitive arm/hand motions; static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.

• Frequent: stooping/bending, walking on uneven ground, speaking, lifting and carrying usual weight of 50 pounds; pushing/pulling usual weight of 50 pounds of force.

• Occasional: kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, squatting.

• Operates company vehicles, hand trucks, cargo straps, cellular telephone, pallet jack.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Exposed to both inside and outside environmental conditions.

• Minimal exposure to exhaust fumes.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• High school education or equivalent.

• Valid U.S. driver's license required in accordance with HI State law rules and regulations.

• Driver's abstract reflecting evidence of good driving record.

• Meet and comply with qualifications set forth in QMC Fleet Safety Policy, including successful completion of annual Defensive Driving training.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• Prior experience as a mail clerk preferred.

• Experience to demonstrate knowledge of postal regulations and types of postal rates preferred.
