Robert Half Assistant Controller in Honolulu, Hawaii

Description

We are looking to add an Assistant Controller to the Honolulu Team of Full-Time Engagement Professionals. This position is within the telecom industry and will require the successful candidate to manage and oversee various accounting functions. The role will be primarily office-based and will involve working with accounting software systems, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting in audit preparations. Responsibilities:

• Manage the operations of automated accounts payable software, including the addition and removal of users and departments.

• Oversee the management of accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely disbursements and collections.

• Review invoicing codes to ensure accurate allocation to General Ledgers (GL).

• Prepare monthly journal entries to account for other assets and liabilities as well as review accountant-proposed journal entries.

• Oversee all elements of the general ledger and reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly.

• Prepare monthly financial statements for review and analysis.

• Assist in preparing audit schedules for the annual audit and tax returns.

• Supervise accounting staff, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.

• Use accounting software systems to manage and track all accounting functions.

• Collaborate with other departments to streamline the budget process and ensure financial stability.

Requirements • Proficiency in accounting software systems

• Knowledge and understanding of accounting functions

• Experience in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with the auditing process

• Ability to participate in budget processes

• Proficiency in Financial Edge software

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
