The Role

We are looking for a Project Engineering Manager to work with sourcing teams and factories to develop products according to engineering designs and quality requirements from US technical teams. They will review technical documents with factories, clarify requirements, collaborate with the QA team to ensure designs meet global testing standards, and monitor product development to align with shipment schedules. They will also provide technical support to solve construction problems, visit production sites to ensure quality standards, address customer-reported quality issues, and support cost-saving initiatives with the US engineering cost team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Working with sourcing teams and factories to develop the products as per engineering product design, technical specifications and quality requirements provided by US technical teams. Review the technical documents provided from US teams with factories and help the factories to understand the requirements and clarify with US teams if needed.

  • Working closely with the QA team to review the products at the beginning of the production development and work with factories to adjust the design of the products to meet the global testing requirements.

  • Working closely with sourcing teams to monitor the status of the development of the products to catch up with planning shipment schedules.

  • Technically support the factories to solve the product construction problem to prevent any potential product quality and production issues.

  • When it is feasible to visit the factories, travel to production sites to review the production processes to ensure the products are manufactured as per confirmed requirements and quality standards.

  • Working closely with the quality team to review any product quality issues reported from the end customer and then helping to discuss with factories to determine the improvement plans.

  • Supporting the US engineering cost team to develop and implement the cost saving programs.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of toy and/or consumer product experience required, preferably in a toy manufacturing environment.

  • Familiar with toy safety requirements such as ASTM, EN71, etc

  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques for wood, plastics, sewing and plastic mold fabrication is desired.

  • Graduation in an Engineering field or related technical field.

  • Able to communicate in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Able to work independently.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel to manufacturing locations in China and other international locations as needed.
