Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support with focus on investment, health, corporate governance and Macau operation

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders in Hong Kong, Macau, Asia and North America to provide legal and regulatory support

  • Review and advise on investment and asset management related agreements and matters

  • Review and advise on policy provisions, policy administration and maintenance, and tender documentations of group life and health insurance

  • Draft, review and advise on agreements with medical service providers including hospitals, clinics, laboratories and other medical networks in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China

  • Work closely with Legal & Compliance, Asia Corporate Governance and business units to provide legal support on Macau operation and corporate governance related matters

  • Draft, review and advise on intra-group agreements and other general corporate / commercial agreement and matters

  • Provide advice and support to business units on submissions to regulators

  • Draft, review and update agreement templates for legal team and business units

  • Provide legal advice and support on business projects, new business models and other strategic initiatives

  • Monitor regulatory development and advise business units on the impact

  • Prepare regular regulatory reports and assist in reporting exercises

  • Instruct, monitor and supervise the works of external counsel

  • Conduct legal research and perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience (with prior work experience in insurance industry, financial institution or investment management sectors)

  • Knowledge in Hong Kong and Macau insurance laws and regulations preferred

  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines

  • Self-motivated personality with passion to learn in a fast-changing area

  • Have good commercial sense and business acumen

  • Good interpersonal skills with team-oriented mindset and ability to build relationship with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
