THE DIME BANK Physical Security Specialist in Honesdale, Pennsylvania

Basic Qualifications

 

Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent is normally required; specialized law enforcement training preferred.

 

Skill(s):  Advanced reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; advanced interpersonal relations and communicative skills; advanced analytical skills and problem-solving ability; thorough knowledge of bank security policies, procedures, and related regulations as well as experience with security equipment; advanced PC and technology skills; visual and auditory skills; valid driver's license.

 

            Experience:  A minimum of three (3) years' related experience normally required.

 

 

General Responsibilities

 

Responsible for managing the Bank's Security function and evaluating, recommending, and ensuring the implementation of established security procedures; implementing strategies to achieve goals developed for the Security function as part of the Physical and Information Security Division's annual operating plan; ensuring compliance with operating policies and procedures and outside regulatory requirements; communicating with appropriate management and staff personnel; providing periodic reports.

 

Essential Duties

 

  1. Manages the Bank's Security function and evaluates, recommends, and ensures

the implementation of established security procedures by performing the following duties:

 

  1. Reviews, recommends, implements, and oversees the bank's Security Plan along with all other policies and procedures relating to the internal and external integrity of the Bank's security systems.

     

  2. Communicates with employees, customers, non-customers, law enforcement, etc regarding security issues. Conducts interviews when necessary with all stakeholders and related witnesses to determine facts and obtain statements regarding internal and external fraudulent activity.

     

  3. Provides for training, and periodic retraining, of employees in their responsibilities under the security program.

     

  4. Ensures the effective operation and maintenance of the Bank's security equipment and devices as illustrated by the following:

     

  5. Maintains an awareness of new developments in the field of protective devices, alarm systems, etc.

     

  6. Evaluates equipment and systems in terms of the Bank's present and future needs.

     

  7. Researches and makes recommendations to purchase, replacement, and maintenance contracts related to security equipment.

     

  8. Provides routine maintenance for bank security equipment and installs necessary replacement as needed.

     

  9. Oversees ongoing security and emergency equipment testing at all Bank locations.

     

  10. Manages physical access control of all Bank locations and equipment; assigns and securely maintains keys or fobs for all personnel as needed.

     

  11. Conducts bank inspections in compliance with regulatory requirements and to identify potential security issues.

     

  12. Maintains liaison with law enforcement agencies and security monitoring company, establishing and maintaining a working relationship with them.

     

     

     

     

  13. Manages security cases including inquiries, affidavits, research, law enforcement contact, and camera images; testifies as witness on behalf of Bank at grand jury proceedings and trials, if required; Assists Fraud Department relating to writs, subpoenas and garnishments.

     

  14. Assists in the development of new or modified products or services to ensure mitigation of security risk prior to implementation.

     

  15. Performs the duties associated with the Bank's Emergency Notification System.

     

  16. Assists the Information Security Officer in the development and monitoring of the Security Department's budget; assists with any research or reporting required in connection with the Physical and Information Security budgets.

     

  17. Abides by the current laws and organizational poli ies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.

     

  18. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements; ensures that assigned personnel adhere to the same.

     

  19. Communicates with the Physical and Information Security Officer, other division/department managers, and appropriate staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.

     

  20. Assists with preparation of annual security report to the Board of Directors and periodic reports to the Physical and Information Security Officer and other groups as required throughout the Bank.
