Description:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quarry Supervisor reports to the Quarry Manager. The Quarry Supervisor directs the activities of 14 or more hourly employees, the haul truck drivers contractor and the stripping contractor. Also he provides direction to mobile maintenance mechanics and coordinates with Mechanic tech and electrical tech any maintenance required on the quarry system.

WHAT YOU'll BE DOING

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.

  • Provide hands on leadership to the hourly workforce and management of all daily operations including subcontractors in the effort of meeting the production goals and to strive for continuous improvement in safe efficient manner.

  • Implement the positive safety culture in the quarry operation including communication, training, and improvements. Implement the long term, short term, and daily mine plan. Participate in the planning process as necessary, providing input to Quarry Manager, Production supervisor, etc.

  • Daily supervision and scheduling of hourly personnel to meet production demands. Key emphasis is the safe operation, including daily safety talks, safety incident investigations, etc.

  • Manage all day to day quarry operation activities; stripping, dump management, road maintenance, efficient production, the wellbeing of the stationary and the mobile equipment, water management, general grounds management.

  • Maintain record keeping and reporting of operating activities and equipment downtimes.

  • Maintain record keeping and reporting of daily safety reports for contractors and Holcim employees.

  • Maintain record keeping of task training record of all quarry tech.

  • Perform routine daily hazard inspections and ground conditions survey report it through Boot on the ground as VPC, HzId, critical VPC, etc.

  • Perform daily review of environmental aspects of the operation. Ensure that any incidents are reported and corrective actions are taken.

  • Provide trouble shooting and guidance for operating, quality and mechanical aspects of all related equipment.

  • Writing of daily instructions for operating personnel (on all shifts) and ensuring that the instructions are clear.

  • Establishment and follow up of all quarry related operating procedures and practices mobile equipment such as mobile equipment operation, work near water, road maintenance and other as applicable

  • Solid computer skills (data reporting, Microsoft Office, CAD / Mine planning tools

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Leadership capabilities.

  • Good organization skills.

  • Flexible team player able to deal with human and technical adverse situations

  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of equivalent experience. years of equivalent experience.

Additional Education Preferred: Associate's degree

Field of Study- Mining or geological science

Required Work Experience:

Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience Supervisory experience in a union environment preferred.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
