Fortive Corporation Manufacturing Engineer Intern (Summer 2024, Hollister) in Hollister, California

The PSEMC internship program provides an opportunity to work on real projects with real impact on space exploration, homeland security and the nation’s defense.

Working closely with PacSci leadership and site engineering teams, The ME Intern (Ordnance) will support elements of critical Manufacturing programs and processes to help drive business results. In collaboration with the Manufacturing Engineers, the ME Intern will help with completing project deliverables to support completion of program Milestones.

Essential Functions and Potential Projects Include:

• Development and Completion of Compliance Matrix

• PFMEA

• Risk Assessment

• Design of Tooling

• Process Development Experiments

• Participate in Group Design Reviews

• Working in Configuration Management System to Manage Program Documentation

• Conduct data reporting and analysis (qualitative and quantitative) across programs

Basic qualifications:

• Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Solidworks and other business/Engineering software

• Strong organizational skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Ability to adapt & respond effectively to a rapid and complex changing work environment

• Communicate confidently, accurately, and effectively across all employee levels

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to support larger program goals

• Willingness to participate in hands on engineering and development activities

• Excellent interpersonal skills
