Human Resource Director, Site Operations

The Director of Human Resources reports directly to the HR Vice President and supports all elements of HR as it relates to our site operations teams. This position directly supports a 250M+ business with US based sites to include operations, quality, engineering, and other support functions. This position is a trusted member of the HR team providing oversight of 3 HR site support roles and operates as a critical business partner to the Site General Manager.

This role will require an analytical and collaborative HR practitioner who uses creative and innovative thinking to resolve sophisticated business and HR challenges. The ideal candidate isn’t afraid to take appropriate risks and should have a track record of leading as a change agent, assessing current situations, anticipating challenges, and providing solutions that make valuable contributions and promote a culture of change and HR leadership.

Key areas of responsibility include setting direction and driving strategy around talent management (development and acquisition), employee experience and organizational development work to support and enable the business. Demonstrated ability in applying data analytics to drive HR decision and strategy is required.

Essential Functions

Strategy & Execution

  • Partner with site General Manager to define and champion a unified culture that inspires excellent performance and strong employee engagement

  • Set the HR agenda for our sites in coordination and collaboration with Site General Manager and the HR Vice President by developing a solid understanding of the company culture, business goals and strategies, and establishing and driving organizational initiatives in support of those strategies

  • Define a roadmap for the HR site team for staffing, compensation, diversity & inclusion, and other HR processes in support of business customers

    Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead and manage the site HR team to ensure quality, innovation, flexibility, and excellent customer service

  • Coach and grow our site HR team members

  • Partner with HR COEs to anticipate and adjust talent and/or compensation strategy as needed

  • Willingness to ‘go to GEMBA’ – inquisitive and comfortable at all levels of the organization

    Business Partnership

  • Drive performance management throughout the year by coaching leadership on appropriate goal setting and feedback; as well as appropriate addressing of any performance issues

  • Establish strong relationships and operate as a trusted business advisor to understand issues/concerns at all levels of the organization and influence outcomes/results

    Data Analytics and Continuous Improvement

  • Use strong business sense and data analytics to drive HR priorities, objectives and action

  • Use Fortive Business System (FBS) tools to help streamline HR processes and improve customer experiences.

  • Gather, synthesize and analyze quantitative and qualitative data in support of both long-term strategy as well as short term ‘game plan’ to improve efficiency and return on investment

    Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field

  • 5+ years of HR experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS Excel – ability to manipulate data with solid knowledge of formulas & pivot tables

    Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in HR or related field

  • Ability to adapt & respond effectively to a rapid and complex changing work environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with orientation on results

  • Ability to be comfortable with a high-volume workload and not resistant or afraid to "roll up your sleeves”

  • Proven effective advising skills, with an ability to influence in all directions and at all levels

  • Excellent organizational and social skills refined for customer interaction

  • Being an enthusiastic teammate with a strong drive to create a positive work environment

  • Demonstrated experience applying independent judgment on employee relations issues and working closely and effectively with leadership at different levels of the organization

  • Employee relations experience as an HR professional supporting operations or corporate functions

Hollister, CA: The salary range for this position is $142,560- $264,720

This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location. The Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and several programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.
