As part of this position, your main responsibility will be to carry out technical tasks related to temporary traffic control on highways at a journey level. This will involve reviewing highway design plans and permit applications to ensure that the temporary traffic control methods being used are appropriate and effective. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting and tracking work zone traffic control reviews, consultations, and after-action reviews to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and publications. You will also play a leading role in developing work zone traffic control training for both internal and external partners. Ultimately, the purpose of this position is to ensure the safety of both the traveling public and the workforce deployed on the roadway.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Week 1 Office days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Week 2 Office days are Tuesday, Wednesday. The remaining 5 days within pay period are eligible for Telework; pending there are no concerns/issues that require office time or field visit. Adjustments or exchanges of Office/Telework days can be coordinated through supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Traffic Control Specialist Trainee; or Two years as a Traffic Control Technician; or One year of experience in traffic control work; and a Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, civil engineering, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
