SUMMARY : Revenue Auditor is responsible for the examination, review, analysis and reporting of Akwesasne Mohawk Casino daily revenue from the gaming floor in compliance with our System Accounting and Internal Control. The Revenue Auditor prepares statistical and revenue summary reports as required by regulations and management. A Revenue Audit associate requires an extent of problem solving and material management and must independently conduct this during their daily process. Individual will be competent and knowledgeable, within the realm of their train. This position is sedentary but requires a number of meticulous, repetitive, and intense time demanding functions to operate efficiently. Many aspects of this positions will require keyboarding and calculating awareness. The individual in this position is responsible for the accurate reporting of the casino’s generated revenues, auditing the paperwork of all revenue centers, and the casino Cage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Examine and verify proper paperwork produced by all revenue centers and the casino Cage department.

    Revenue centers include but are not limited to the following:

  • Bingo/Pull Tabs: (6wk training) audit completed as follows;

  • Generation of reports from the Software systems.

  • Review, compilation and evaluation of the daily supplied revenue material.

  • Calculating the necessary data to report the revenues and expenses accordingly.

  • Box Office/Events: (1wk training) audit requiring different recording and tracking procedures depending on the event.

  • Casino Cage & Credit: (6wk training) audit consisting of;

  • The Main Bank, Satellite Bank, Chip Bank, and front line cashiers.

  • Generating a detailed and summarized report for each cage transaction.

  • Recording coupons redeemed, cage paid outs/received, logging of all prize vouchers paid, W2-G’s and 1042-S’s, and any checks received.

  • Review and analysis of cash advances, credit card advances, gift certificate redemption, and comp revenue of any additional promotional sales (ex. Gas for Points). While ensuring that all comped items are authorized and charged appropriately, and making any necessary adjustments.

  • Reviews daily tax forms and ensures compliance with all tax and Title 31 gaming regulations.

  • Input Prize Vouchers for potential year-end tax preparation filing.

  • Free Credit & Promotions review: (2wk training) audit consisting of;

  • Daily, weekly and monthly review of ACRES Patron Management System Free Credit and promotional allowances used by player, monitoring and reporting of any irregularities with the issuance of Free Credit for any given day.

  • Continuously kept up-to-date on all promotion changes, the evaluation requirements of each allowance and the perimeters each promotional item may include.

  • Analyze the offers processed in order to audit the issuance and redemption of all Free Credit and promotional item efficiently.

  • Food & Beverage: (12wk. training) audit consisting of;

  • The cash and comp revenue of all Food Venue’s within the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino and any Special Events.

  • While ensuring that all comp items are authorized and charged appropriately, and making any necessary adjustments.

  • Gift Shop: (2wk training) audit consisting of;

  • the cash, credit card and comp revenue of Reflections Gift Shop, and any additional Promotional sales revenue.

  • While ensuring that all comped items are authorized and charged appropriately, and making any necessary adjustments.

  • Hotel/Banquets/Spa: (6wk training) audit completed as follows;

  • Obtain reports from the Software systems.

  • Record revenues, track and audit comps, coupons etc.

  • Kiosk: (4wk training) audit consisting of;

  • the verification of all cash and tickets dropped with each Ticket Redemption Center on the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino gaming floor.

  • Reporting and monitor any irregularities, and performing an extensive review to ensure to comply with all necessary regulatory expectations.

  • Over/Short, handpay: (4wk training) audit consisting of;

  • review, calculation and compiling all cash paid for Slot Ticket redemption as received by the Casino Cage.

  • Understanding the cause and effect of the progressive jackpot payouts and how it will pertain to the Slot revenue reporting.

  • Slot Gaming: (26wk training) audit completed as follows;

  • Complete the audit within the Acres accounting tracking system, while analyzing the required reports and functions of the IVS ticketing system.

  • Progressive accrual tracking and recording.

  • Revenue calculation summary.

  • Calculation of the slot withdrawals, while analyzing any progressive amounts. Verification that all withdrawals are authorized appropriately, and supported by the Acres Accounting systems meters.

  • Analyze and calculate to compare daily, the meters within any given machine under each possible category. Understand the cause and effect of machines not metering properly, and to report any discrepancies. While at the same time comprehending the entire process to make the necessary corrections or notifications.

  • Sports Book: (1wk training) audit consisting of;

  • The verification of all redemption vouchers

  • Daily processing of gaming activity ensuring revenues are posted accordingly/accurately.

  • Audit and review of the daily transaction listing outlining any irregularities, and performing an extensive review ensuring compliance will all necessary regulatory requirements.

  • Table Games: (4wk training) audit consisting of;

  • review of all games currently on the Casino floor, auditing and compiling a summary of all Table activity while adhering to Compact and regulation requirements.

  • Caribbean Stud accrual preparation and analysis.

  • Analyze and review all Table Rating as itemized in detail within the patron Management system, reporting any irregularities, adhering to Title 31 regulations of control and tracking.

  • Comprehending the mathematical distinction of using two currency units with all the revenue sources.

  • Administrative review: will pertain to the review, verification, documentation and distribution of the Audit Exception Notices. Compile and review for completeness all necessary audit back-up provided to our external entities (NYSRW and Tribal Gaming), then distribution of these documents.

  • Retrieve Caribbean Stud reports from the Table Games pit area, and take manual meter readings from the gaming floor on specified machines.

  • Preparing worksheets to compile and summarize the daily activities of each audit, of which are forwarded to update the General Ledger.

  • Informs the Revenue Audit Supervisor/Manager of all potential problems or other issues in a timely manner.

  • Report any irregularities and/or variances from each revenue center via an Audit Exception Notice (AEN) to the Revenue Audit Supervisor. The AEN’s written are sent to the Departments Director, and the Tribal Gaming Commission for investigation and response.

  • Record all gift certificates issued and redeemed by serial number, purchaser name and amount.

  • Must be capable of learning and processing a minimum of ½ of all the listed training possibilities to maintain position.

  • Harmoniously work scheduled days with a team of associates.

  • This department and its associates require the talent to make quick decisions, data processing and reporting, problem solving, mathematical aptitudes and data management. Associates are not kept to an 8 hour time expectation, the work done for this department is done as the business demands, sometimes requiring many long hours while sometimes not enough business will lower the expected hours consumed.

  • Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with the public and fellow associates.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory duties.

    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully this individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : High School diploma; or one year (or more) in related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with, or without reasonable accommodation.

    This position is sedentary work. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, while performing repetitive keyboarding or fine manipulation using hands. Retrieval of reports from the Table Games pit area, and take manual meter readings from the gaming floor on specified progressive machines daily (duties shared between all departmental staff), which requires walking for a minimum of 60 minutes at any given time. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with, or without reasonable accommodation. The position exists in a casino work environment where there is occasional exposure of the associate to noise and cigarette smoke from the casino floor.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III License which requires a criminal background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. Employment will not begin until process is complete.
