Intel Memory Systems Firmware Development Engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing and/or implementing interfaces that abstract low level hardware details from higher levels of software and firmware, gathering requirements, performing design and code reviews, as well as testing and validating product implementations.

  • Develops firmware to create a stable and performant memory subsystem involving initialization of the memory controller, training engine, and a physical interface layer including development and/or definition of training and calibration algorithms.

  • Develops solutions to meet memory design specifications and JEDEC standards across multiple memory technologies with expertise in digital and/or analog environments.

  • Responsible for enabling firmware on simulation models to verify the design, analyze timing, and uncover bugs.

  • Replicates, root causes, and debugs issues in presilicon and/or postsi environments.

  • Collaborates with digital and analog architects as well as RTL designers to improve verification of complex architectural and microarchitectural features and meet functional goals.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Computer Programing, Electrical Engineering, or related field plus 9+ years of experience.

  • Master’s degree in science, Computer Programing, Electrical Engineering, or related field plus 6+ years of experience.

  • PhD degree in Science, Computer Programing, Electrical Engineering, or related field plus 4+ years of experience.

Experience must be in the following:

  • C programming skills

  • Python programming skills

  • Knowledge of IA 86 memory subsystems

  • Knowledge of Intel based computer systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong memory IO debug skills

  • Strong knowledge of LPDDR and DDR memory bus

  • Knowledge of Memory Reference Code (MRC)

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US $196,830.00-$277,880.00

*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. * Job posting details (such as work model, location or time type) are subject to change.
