Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will provide guidance and support to the production leadership team and coordinate operations to ensure that production targets and customer expectations are met. The Production Manager will be responsible for continues improvement and decreasing conversion costs for the assigned product line. The Manager will lead, motivate and develop employees to achieve outstanding results according to set targets through enhancing teamwork, effective communications, engaged listening, and change management. The Manager will also hold accountability and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards. The Production Manager must be a highly motivated individual with aspirations to continue to grow their career within ITW.

  • Determine requirements for operational labor needs, equipment, and make changes/recommendation as needed for assigned operational line

  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational and manufacturing problems to minimize expenses and prevent operational delays.

  • Attend and/or facilitate weekly meetings regarding operations and planning.

  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with team members to achieve results.

  • Drives accountability and compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards by effectively communicating expectations and changes to teams.

  • Demonstrates the knowledge of core business and manufacturing processes and prioritizes direction based upon business/plant need and strategy.

  • Champions new ideas and encourages team members to try new approaches to solve key operational issues.

  • Plans production operations, establishes priorities and sequences for manufacturing products by reviewing daily reports and establishing goals

  • Responsible for product line P&L including profit margin goals and process improvements.

  • Inspires and coaches salaried management team and hourly team members

  • Identifies and develops future leadership and improves/supports overall bench strength. Consistently makes good decisions regarding recruitment, promotion, and assessment.

  • Resolve employee complaints, conduct investigations and issue coaching or discipline in accordance with company policy.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, Engineering, or related field

  • 7+ years leadership experience, preferably in a large manufacturing facility. Experience in food equipment is an asset.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

  • Knowledge of Employment Standards, and OHSA

  • Office, Lab and Manufacturing environments.

  • PPE required: Steel toe shoes and eye protection in manufacturing setting.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, or stoop and use hands, arms and walk frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
