Highland County Community Action Organization Inc. has full time, 40 hour a week grant position available for a Peer Support Specialist. Provides wellness support and coaching to clients who are participating in the Recovery Wellness program. The goal is to support and assist clients in identifying a healthy support system, prevent criminal justice involvement, and provide coaching and guidance for a healthy and active lifestyle. Provide activities that promote recovery, self-determination, self-advocacy, well-being and independence.   

Minimum qualifications for this position are a High School diploma or equivalent and an Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter certification. Familiarity with local treatment agencies, recovery resources, activities, recreational businesses, and understanding of positive, healthy environments that would support recovery is strongly recommended.

Applicants must have compassion for county residents and the desire to be a part of an agency that is making a difference in our county.  Applicant must have a valid Ohio Driver's License and be insurable under the agency fleet insurance policy and must be able to bend, stoop, and lift over 40 pounds. This position will report to Highland County Community Action Organization, in Hillsboro, Ohio.
