Early College Coordinator

Classification Summary:

This class is the fourth level in the Admissions series. Incumbents coordinate Student Services role in the Early College program, serving as a liaison to the area high schools and to the Colleges Instructional Division. Responsibilities may include: managing outreach, enrollment, and advising for students participating in dual credit, dual enrollment, and early college cohort programs; ensuring early college students are taking the appropriate coursework; assisting with the ongoing review of Early College documents, processes, and services; working in consultation with the Senior Director of the Area Technical School/Early College Program; and supporting the daily operations of the Admissions Office.

Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience:

Bachelors degree in related field, and at least three years of relevant work experience.

Classification Duties:

Serve as a liaison between Jefferson College and the high school counselors.

Help facilitate communication and collaboration between campus constituents by acting as the Student Services liaison to the Associate Deans, the Senior Director of the Area Technical School/Early College Program, and other relevant campus departments.

Oversee dual credit, dual enrollment, and early college cohort programs, including: registering students for classes, advising students of appropriate course selection, providing information to students and their families, and coordinating enrollment processes in conjunction with high school counselors.

Serve as the primary academic advisor for students in early college cohort programs, including: assisting with the development of personalized degree pathways, facilitating all aspects of the application and registration process, informing students about their options and the possible consequences of academic decisions, providing information and referrals to students needing services, ensuring students are aware of potential future financial aid implications, working collaboratively with campus advising staff to ensure students are on track to achieving their academic goals, and maintaining current working knowledge of all college degree options, support services, general transfer information, and federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs.

Coordinate welcome nights, informational meetings, and specialized orientations for early college students. Participate in other relevant training, advisory meetings, and events.

Facilitate Early College enrollment processes, to include working in collaboration with the Instructional Division and the high school counselors to accomplish tasks such as: creating cohort schedules, reviewing and maintaining the Early College Offerings Spreadsheet, coordinating computer proficiency testing, obtaining lists of students participating in cohort programs, and facilitating course changes within cohort programs.

Assist with the ongoing review of Early College documents, processes, and services. Provide feedback and recommendations to promote continuous improvement of enrollment related services.

Assist with the training of Admissions/recruitment staff, supervise relevant support staff, and serve as back up for Admissions Representatives at recruitment events, on site registration, and information sessions.

Represent the Admissions Office on relevant committees, subcommittees, task forces, and work groups and participate in ongoing professional development to monitor trends, research best practices, and remain current with technology.

Wage/Salary: $51,002; effective July 1: $52,104
