Summary:

Manage and lead all aspects of the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure programs and projects across the product lifecycle meet organization goals and commitments to customers; Is Accountable for the creation & maintenance of program management governance and standards as it directly relates to the PMO; Manages and communicates end-to-end program health providing one source of information for all the active programs in the business unit; deliver an excellent customer experience through outstanding project/program execution , creative problem solving and cross-functional cooperation; Holds teams accountable to stage gate process and weekly/monthly/quarterly reviews; Acts as business unit escalation point to facilitate program issues resolution as the need arises

The role reports directly to Sr Director Softgels Business Unit, matrix to Sr Director PMO.

The incumbent sits in the Site leadership teams of Tilburg, High Point, and in the Global PMO Leadership Team.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and implement project management methodology, including processes, tools, metrics and polices to ensure efficiency, quality and business success.

  • Build the organization to provide Program Management services in the business unit, accountable to ensure that programs/projects are delivered on time, meeting commercial steady state criteria.

  • Lead a team of Program Managers with a customer-first demeanor and effective communications.

  • Design and implement the operating cadence, including running coordination meetings, project updates, and overall oversight of programs.

  • Drive cross-functional planning and effective execution through the development and monitoring of fully integrated, project specific timelines and budgets.

  • Ensure programs are staffed with the right personnel with vital skills, experience, knowledge, and abilities.

  • Forge tight partnerships with cross-functional leaders and complete activities in a productive and collaborative setting.

  • Define and analyze metrics that form the foundation of world-class execution and ensure the success of project delivery.

  • Implement process to pro-actively identify and resolve risks and dependencies that could prevent successful program execution.

  • Promote a safe working environment, report potential hazards, and ensure all direct reports follow Environmental Health and Safety procedures.

  • Select, develop, and evaluate colleagues to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Work with and advise colleagues on administrative policies and procedures.

Required qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Science, Engineering or related fields)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in business transformation, integration responsibilities

  • Previous project management/client interface experience required

  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting required.

  • Pharmaceutical or Contract Manufacturing industry experienced highly preferred

Equivalency:

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Capable of setting clear priorities, organizing work, and making quality decisions in a fast-paced business setting. Uses good judgement in gathering input for decisions. Ability to quickly understand and adjust to changing business needs. Strong negotiating and influencing skills. Strong management skills and understanding of project management lifecycle. Ability to demonstrate active listening skills. Ability to communicate with clients and internal customers with challenging issues in a positive manner. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency with the English Language.
