Job Description

Aramark Destinations at the Kahn Hotel at High Point University is currently seeking Servers and Server Assistants for the newest restaurant on the campus slated to open Fall of 2023.

Kazoku, meaning ?family? is a unique and entertaining dining experience where chefs skillfully prepare the food in front of you at a 10- seat teppanyaki grill table. Restaurant hours of operation Tuesday ? Saturday, 4:30p.m. to 8:30p.m.

Job Responsibilities

• Sets side station and performs assigned side work?

• Provides immediate attention to all members/guests upon seating.

• Distributes menus?

• Fills glasses with ice water; answers questions and suggests menu items?

• Takes members?/guests ?orders?

• Places orders with kitchen; informs cooks about any special cooking instructions?

• Assembles food on tray; procures items from each station as necessary?

• Serves meal; places dishes by courses in front of each person?

• Checks back to ensure member/guest satisfaction; replenishes water?

• Removes soiled dishes?

• Suggests and serves dessert, coffee, and after dinner drinks?

• Verifies accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes, tips and other charges on all checks?

• Handles all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures?

• Keeps tables, dining room and bus station areas clean

• Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur?

• Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager?

• Attends pre and post line up meetings

• Maintains and fosters positive relationship with all associates and clients. Promotes a harmonious and cooperative working climate.

Qualifications

• 1 year of previous experience in restaurant or comparable industry. We will train.

• Customer Oriented ? Ability to take care of the customers needs while following company procedures.

• Some computer skills preferred. Restaurant reservation systems a plus. Will train.

• Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.

• Ability to actively listen, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.

• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, guests, and management to ensure all needs are met.

• Receive and follow directions from supervisors,

• Ability to work together with a team in a positive manner to achieve common goal.

• Ability to exhibit a cheerful demeanor towards other sand bring energy to the performance of the task.

• Must be literate for written client and guest communication.

• Available to work evenings and weekends.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
