ARAMARK Teppanyaki Chef - Kazoku at High Point University in High, North Carolina

Job Description

Kazoku Teppanyaki Restaurant is currently looking for friendly, hard-working chefs who will provide an excellent dining experience for our student guests.

Kazoku, meaning ?family? is the newest restaurant on the campus of High Point University. Kazoku is a unique and entertaining dining experience where chefs skillfully prepare the food in front of you at a 10- seat teppanyaki grill table. Restaurant hours of operation Tuesday ? Saturday, 4:30p.m. to 8:30p.m.

Engage and entertain guests. Primarily works front of the restaurant while cooking and preparing meals on teppan/hibachi tables directly in front of guests. Ensures correct food portions are being cooked. Maintain the kitchen areas and teppan stations to cleanliness and sanitation guidelines. Prepares and sets up food for cooking and side orders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Engage with and entertain guests while preparing & serving food.

  • Must be able to work as part of a team and recognize the importance of each team member?s role in the guest dining experience.

  • Set and maintain a high standard of food quality in presentation and execution.

  • Adheres to standard recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation which help to assure consistently high quality and to minimize food costs; exercises portion control for all items served.

  • Ensure food is handled in a respectful manner and is processed and stored in accordance with SNHD regulations.

  • Adhere to and enforce company policies and statutory requirements with regard to health and safety, sanitation, fire procedures, and HACCP.

  • Ensure safe and proper use of equipment.

  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in and around all culinary work areas.

  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma. Culinary degree desirable or equivalent combination of education and work.

  • 1-2 years minimum of prior relevant kitchen supervisory experience

  • Serve Safe Certification and Allergy Awareness training strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of industry standards on food storage and handling.

  • Quality Control -adheres to standard recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation which help to assure consistently high quality and to minimize food costs; exercises portion control for all items served.

  • Composure ? ability to maintain composure and work under pressure, managing stress to meet business demands. Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with guests, management and team members in a calm and professional manner.

  • Attention to detail ? ability to follow instructions and achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
