ARAMARK Kazoku Hibachi Restaurant Host/Hostess in High, North Carolina

Job Description

Aramark Destinations at the Kahn Hotel at High Point University is currently seeking a Host or Hostess for the newest restaurant on the campus slated to open Fall of 2023.

Kazoku, meaning ?family? is a unique and entertaining dining experience where chefs skillfully prepare the food in front of you at a 10- seat teppanyaki grill table. Restaurant hours of operation Tuesday ? Saturday, 4:30p.m. to 8:30p.m.

The host/hostess will provide the highest level of quality and service to our guests in an incredibly friendly atmosphere. The position will act as the first point of contact for our guests as they arrive at the restaurant and assist them with their dining arrangement.

Essential functions and responsibilities?of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements?and business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist guests in making reservations as they call or arrive at the restaurant utilizing electronic reservation system.

  • Make table assignments for guests based on reservation size, time, and restaurant availability.

  • Answer questions regarding restaurant hours of operation, menu items, and assist guests with any other requests as needed.

  • Seat guests correctly at assigned table and provide them with necessary supplies such as menus, silverware, etc.

  • Answer incoming telephone calls within 3 rings and in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Be able to multi-task between assigning guests as they arrive, answering the telephone, and assisting coworkers.

  • Learn each server?s name and corresponding section for each shift and effectively rotate seating based on table availability.

  • Collect and clean each menu as well as clean and restock the greeter work stations.

  • Must be dependable, report to work as scheduled and on time, and follow all policies regarding attendance.

  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.

  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of previous experience in restaurant or comparable industry. We will train.

  • Customer Oriented ? Ability to take care of the customers needs while following company procedures.

  • Some computer skills preferred. Restaurant reservation systems a plus. Will train.

  • Comfortable answering the phone, returning guest calls, making reservations and managing the flow of guests into the restaurant.

  • Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.

  • Ability to actively listen, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, guests, and management to ensure all needs are met.

  • Receive and follow directions from supervisors,

  • Ability to work together with a team in a positive manner to achieve common goal.

  • Ability to exhibit a cheerful demeanor towards other sand bring energy to the performance of the task.

  • Neat and well-groomed

  • Must be literate for written client and guest communication. Requires excellent reading writing abilities 100% of the day.

  • Available to work evenings and weekends.
