Job Summary
The Senior Auditor - Quality Assurance is responsible for performing quality assurance reviews in accordance with the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) and the IA Methodology. The person in this role plays a key part in providing feedback to the audit teams on their conformance with Methodology, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards, and best practices.

Pay Range: $71, 600.00 - $87, 947.00 - $132, 600.00

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform quality assurance reviews (QAR) to ensure the QAIP plan is completed. Discuss results with the audit teams and formalize a summary report to the Audit Practices Group (APG) Director and Chief Audit Executive.
  • Discuss QAR results and best practices along with the APG Director at staff meetings along with best practices.
  • Perform additional duties such a targeted training sessions and special projects as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years' audit experience preferably in financial services or other highly regulated industry.
  • CIA, CPA, CISA, CRMA, CRCM, or CFE Certifications are preferred.
  • Senior experience on an audit team and/or professional practices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of internal audit processes and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, TeamMate, and other data analysis tools).
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written & verbal) with the ability to provide effective challenge.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and guidance.
  • Ability to work well with various levels of management.
  • Ability to lead special projects with limited supervision.
  • Minimal travel - up to 10% travel required.
  • Physical demands (ADA): No unusual physical exertion is involved.
