Fairview Health Services Unit Assistant in Hibbing, Minnesota
Fairview Range is looking for a Unit Assistant to join our Perioperative Care team for Surgical Services in Hibbing, MN. With over 55 physicians, Fairview Range Medical Center has the largest surgical staff on the Iron Range with a variety of surgical services offered in areas such as ENT, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Podiatry, and General Surgery. We are a Level IV trauma center, and perform emergency, inpatient, and outpatient surgeries and procedures.
The Unit Assistant (UA) assists in the direct and indirect perioperative patient care under the direction of a registered nurse. Additionally, the UA is responsible for computer, clerical, and information management, and performing other duties as assigned. This position is part time, 48-64 hours per two weeks, 8-hour Day shifts, and weekends as needed. This is fully benefit eligible!

As an Unit Assistant in Perioperative Care you are responsible for:
Transporting patients in a safe and courteous manner.
Assisting in obtaining information from the patient and/or significant other about patient special care needs, and reporting to the RN.
Promptly reporting any changes in the patient's condition to the RN.
Maintains safe and hygienic care to patients at all times.
Demonstrating competency in use of the software systems.
Acting as the communication link between surgical services staff, anesthesia, surgeons, clinics, and patients by promptly responding to telephone and other messages/requests.
Required:
High school graduate or equivalent.
BLS certification
Preferred:
Graduation from a nursing assistant program, ward clerk program, or similar qualifying background.
