Fairview Health Services Kitchen Assistant, Nutritional Services, Full Time in Hibbing, Minnesota

Fairview Range is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for Nutrition Services Department in Hibbing, MN.

As a Kitchen Assistant you will be responsible for duties in the role of Cafeteria Retail person. You will assist with patient, cafeteria, and special function meal service in accordance with established menus and departmental policy. This role requires attention to detail, passion for service, friendly and cheerful demeanor at all times.

Schedule: This position will be working full time, working 72-80 hours per pay period. Day/Evening shifts and every other weekend. This position will primarily work the retail line.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Performs duties related to food production.

  • Keeps kitchen area clean and prioritizes to meet Health Department codes and to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care/service respective of their age.

  • Acquires information, performs assessment, and develops and implements effective plan of care to meet age specific needs of the age populations served.

Job Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in institutional food service.

  • High school education preferred.

  • Coursework in institutional food service helpful.

  • Demonstrates appropriate hand-washing skills for infection control.

  • Uses two patient identifiers when delivering food products to patients.
