Sedona Staffing CDL Driver (Commercial Drivers License Driver) in HEWITT, Texas

Job Summary: Transport vehicles and equipment such as cars, trucks, skid steers, or other equipment. Most loads will be from car dealerships and auctions to other dealerships and auctions. Most work is completed between 7am 7pm Monday through Friday, but occasional work on nights and Saturdays may be needed. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • A Drivers job will consist of but is not limited to the following.
    • Transport vehicles and light equipment to customer locations and auctions.
    • Loading and unloading of vehicles, equipment, and cargo and secure properly
    • Perform inspections of vehicles and equipment to be moved for loose parts, damaged and worn tires, and any other items affecting the safe towing and/or hauling of equipment.
    • Plan routes and safely meet delivery schedules
    • Complete all required company and customer documentation (paper and digital) including (but not limited to) Bill of Lading and Vehicle Authorization Release for each vehicle.
    • Perform daily vehicle and equipment pre-trip inspections and post-trip inspections, trip sheets, and work/rest logs as required.
    • Performing minor maintenance/repair tasks when necessary
    • Keep assigned vehicle clean inside and out
    • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- - Able to meet all physical requirements of the job - Current commercial drivers license with an acceptable driving record - No recent moving or driving violations - Must have 2 years verifiable commercial driving history - Must have a valid TDLR Certificate for Towing - Verifiable work history - Clean drug and alcohol background check - Able to work periodic nights and weekends

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- - Able to read, write, speak and understand English to communicate effectively - Must be able to read and understand the rules and regulations set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and the Department of Transportation. - Extensive knowledge of the safe operation and features of the assigned vehicle including the functions, capabilities, operations, operating principles, hazards, safety precautions, load securement, and rigging. - Ability to navigate and use technology such GPS, smart phones, tablets, and digital applications. - Basic understanding of truck maintenance and have the ability to perform minor truck repairs - Skilled in reasoning with the ability to interpret policies, procedures, maps, and directions. - Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.) - Have interpersonal skills that foster and create positive relationships.
