Eaton Corporation Project Engineer Aftermarket in Hengelo, Netherlands

For our EMEA Electrical Systems & Solutions Business Unit, we are looking for a Project Engineer Aftermarket.

Location: on-site in Hengelo, with Hybrid option available.

Eaton Hengelo factory is now located at the heart of the The Green Box cleantech campus in The Netherlands, a unique location with multiple companies who all work towards future clean technology. Eaton has offices, test, storage and production facilities for electrical equipment, which is essential for charging electric cars, temporarily storing electricity.

Our production site in Hengelo is on sustained growth trend, as a complex agile High- manufacturing location. From sustainability to Energy Transition to the Electrification, the site in Hengelo is currently linked to all of these from a manufacturing standpoint, as in Hengelo we design and bring to life the next generation of medium- voltage switchgear power equipment.

The role is reporting into the Value Stream Leader, and is part of the Operations organization. It works closely with the Services organization in Benelux and the EMEA region.

In this role you will be involved in projects/orders in the following products: electrotechnical switching distribution devices (medium and low voltage), modular equipped standard systems with customer specific solutions and unique customer made solutions.

Assignments will come via application engineering, Country Sales Organisations, Country Services Units and/or internal customers.

Project/Order Management volume of 5-40 orders simultaneously, different stages of execution, lead times of 2-20 weeks, value up to €2,5 Mln. per order/project. It is a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and check sales orders for feasibility, profitability and commercial conditions and degree of standardization

  • Discuss / negotiate various issues and / or deviations in alignment with Country Sales Organisation and customer within set authorization frameworks

  • Determine Make to Stock, Assemble to Order or Engineer to Order qualification order for internal organization and confirm

  • Analyse substantive order data and specifications and determine scope for engineering and production

  • Organize handover meeting

  • Monitor progress and quality

  • Offer extra and less work

  • Organize and guide FAT when applicable

  • Prepare Field Service scope and arrange site work

  • Act as first point of contact for warranties and claims

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in an Engineering field, ideally Electrical but not a must

  • 3-5 years of working experience

  • In depth knowledge of Electrical Engineering and global knowledge on Mechanical Engineering and materials.

  • Incoterms & payment terms knowledge

  • Software and Automation skills

  • Project management skills, PMP certification or equivalent PM certification with another institute is a plus

  • Negotiation & analytical skills, being accurate, proactive/self-starter, efficient (time vs value)

  • Continuous Improvement capabilities, green belt certification is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work within an international and diverse matrix organisation

  • Good Dutch & English language skills
