Position Overview

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill two (2) vacancies for the classification of Public Works Student Intern (Part-Time) in the Department of Public Works. Candidates from this recruitment may be considered for future vacancies.

Under direct supervision, performs work of routine difficulty designed to provide hands on learning experience related to the Engineering Division of the City's Public Works Department; and performs related duties as assigned.

Position Information:

  • This is a part-time, non-PERS position

  • This position is not eligible for any benefits

  • Work schedule will vary and will not exceed 19 hours a week. Hours per week may increase/decrease based on Department need.

  • May be required to work a flexible work schedule on any day Monday through Thursday.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent

  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university program with a major in engineering, construction management, architecture, GIS or a closely related field

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483

  • Desirable: Experience with AutoCAD and/or GIS Software
