Role Purpose The purpose of this role is to supervise all warehouse activities at the Hemlock Wafer Plant, setting daily priorities and leading associates, while identifying and executing on process improvement opportunities. This position will include a varying level of project work.?Expect to participate in cross-functional teams within Corning to enhance our performance in areas such as inventory control, warehouse management, supply chain operations and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise warehouse associate activities, including receiving, shipping, inventory control.
- Ensure warehouse meets targeted receiving cycle times, shipping load dates.
- Set and manage expectations with customer service, product line management, and planning
- Accountability for inventory accuracy and visibility
- Drive continuous improvements utilizing lean and six sigma supply chain tools (value stream mapping, Kaizen, DMAIC, etc.)
- Directly responsible for performing work in a safe manner and maintaining a safe work environment.Responsible for his/her safety, as well as that of others that may be at the facility, whether working or visiting. Responsible for observing safe work practices and being proactive for reporting unsafe conditions.
Work Hours
- Will work 1 of the listed shifts: 8am-5pm Monday- Friday OR 8pm-5am Monday-Friday
Required Experiences/Education
- 4-year degree from an accredited college or university.
- 2-5 years of experience in supply chain
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid problem-solving skills and decision-making skills
- Ability to multi-task; effectively prioritize and manage projects, as well as day-to-day responsibilities
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact across functions and at all levels of the organization
Desired Experiences/Education
Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.SAP experience preferred
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, throughout all levels of the organization
