POSITION
In this role, the IT Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network systems to ensure reliable and secure communication for our clients. They configure hardware, such as routers and switches, monitor network performance, and resolve connectivity issues. Additionally, they support network security by implementing protocols and responding to security incidents to protect the organization's data. These responsibilities include:
Setting up and configuring network hardware, such as routers, switches, and firewalls, to ensure proper functionality.
Continuously monitoring network performance, identifying issues, and performing routine maintenance to keep the network running smoothly.
Diagnosing and resolving issues like connectivity problems, slow performance, or security breaches.
Implementing and maintaining security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data encryption, to protect against cyber threats.
Providing technical support to users experiencing issues, including helping with connectivity problems, password resets, and software installations.
Maintaining accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures for future reference and compliance purposes.
Ensuring regular backups of data and implementing disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of network failures.
Planned and executed network upgrades, optimized network performance, and stay updated on the latest networking technologies.
Working closely with other team members to ensure the network integrates smoothly with other systems and supports the client's overall IT infrastructure.
Ensuring the network complies with industry standards, legal regulations, and organizational policies, following best practices for network management.

YOUR STRENGTHS
At least four years of IT service support experience.
Preferred background in managed service provision, though not required.
Proficiency in Windows Server (e.g., 2016, 2019, 2022) and desktop operating systems (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 11).
Experience with macOS and Linux can be beneficial.
Understanding of network fundamentals, including IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, and routing.
Experience with network troubleshooting and tools (e.g., Wireshark, ping, tracert).
Experience with server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery processes.
Understanding of basic security principles, including firewalls, antivirus, and encryption.
Proficiency with remote desktop tools and management software.
Experience with diagnosing and repairing hardware issues for servers and workstations.
Versatile experience across various network environments, including small businesses, enterprise settings, and data centers.
