The historic Wassweiller Restaurant and Mercantile is seeking a host person. The host person would be scheduled on a part-time basis Tuesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. until 10-11 p.m. depending on availability and need. This host person would be expected to perform the following duties: - Greets and seat customers in the restaurant and/or patio as necessary with menus, - Answer the phone, make and confirm reservations, and respond to customer queries - manage the floor plan to prepare for guests, evenly distribute tables to be served, - Take food orders over the phone and prepare the order to be picked up, - Deliver food, water, silverware or other requests as necessary to assist other staff members before, during and after service to ensure guest experience satisfaction - Assist with polishing silverware, glassware, sweeping, cleaning, before, during and after service - Reset tables to prepare for the next guests - Check menus to ensure they are clean and have latest menu - Manage bathrooms to ensure stock and cleanliness - Ensure that guests are satisfied with the service by thanking them as they leave and welcoming them back - Answering guest requests before, during and after service as a representative of the restaurant The host person will be required to be able to stand for the duration of service, lift up to 25lbs., bend, stoop and communicate in a clear, hospitable and inviting way to guests and staff.
