State of Montana Client Service Supervisor in Helena, Montana

The Client Service Supervisor position supervises and trains employees who make eligibility determinations for applicants seeking services. The Office of Public Assistance (OPA) supports Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly Food Stamps), disabled individuals and a variety of health coverage programs. This position ensures eligibility programs are determined and administered in an accurate and timely manner. This position directly supervises at least two employees and may supervise up to ten staff. What You Can Offer Us • Knowledge of customer service principles, practices, and positive public relations. • Knowledge of personnel management and supervision. • Skill in working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. • Knowledge of social problems, cultural and human behavior; community based and/or statewide assistance programs and eligibility requirements. • Meet minimum qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in business, human services with a concentration that is directly related to public assistance, or a closely related field of study. • Three years of Client Service Coordinator work experience or other job-related work experience with duties that include complex analysis and decision making and/or solving complex client service problems. • One year of supervisory experience. • Other combinations of related education and experience maybe considered on a case-by-case basis. • Preferred experience working with tribal government entities and/or other organizations of native peoples highly preferred. Specific conditions will be provided by this position's supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
