As a Business Development Manager in Air & Ocean Logistics, you will be the driving force behind our client's growth in these key logistics sectors. You will engage with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to identify, develop, and nurture new business opportunities. Building robust client relationships will be essential as you promote the company's comprehensive air and ocean logistics services, showcasing your deep understanding of trade lanes, service offerings, and industry-specific regulations.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Business Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the SME segment across air and ocean logistics.

  • Market Insight: Conduct detailed market research to pinpoint potential customers and stay ahead of industry trends.

  • Engaging Presentations: Prepare and deliver captivating presentations on air and ocean logistics products and services.

  • Client Onboarding: Collaborate with the Solutions and operations team to ensure seamless onboarding of new clients.

  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor and analyse market competition, keeping abreast of pricing and product information.

  • Quotations & Proposals: Generate accurate quotations and compelling proposals for clients.

  • Customer Feedback: Report customer feedback and complaints to the Customer Care team to drive continuous improvement.

  • CRM Management: Maintain and update customer information using CRM tools.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Sales Prowess: Proven track record in B2B sales with experience in face-to-face client interactions.

  • Communication: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

  • Business Insight: Strong business acumen with the ability to build and sustain customer relationships.

  • Organisational Skills: Effective time management and organisational abilities.

  • Technology & Data Driven: Proficiency in using CRM systems and MS Office tools.

  • Industry Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of the logistics industry, specifically air and ocean logistics.

  • Target-Oriented: Ability to overachieve in a targeted new business environment.
