Bartender Job Description  

Location: The Tap at Humboldt Depot

Position Overview: The Tap at Humboldt Depot is seeking experienced and customer-focused Bartenders to join our team. Bartenders will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages to customers in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drink Preparation & Service:
    • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes.
    • Take drink orders, process payments, and ensure accurate orders are delivered to customers in a timely manner.
    • Be knowledgeable about the bar menu and offer drink recommendations to guests.
  • Customer Service:
    • Engage with customers, ensuring a friendly and welcoming environment.
    • Respond to customer inquiries, special requests, and concerns in a courteous manner.
    • Monitor and manage customer behavior to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Bar Maintenance & Cleanliness:

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area.

    • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment after use, and maintain proper sanitation standards.

    • Restock bar supplies, such as beverages, ice, and garnishes, as needed.

    • Inventory & Cash Handling:

      • Monitor and maintain beverage inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and rotation.
      • Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, ensuring proper record-keeping and balance at the end of shifts.
    • Team Collaboration:

      • Work closely with the serving staff, kitchen team, and management to ensure smooth service.
      • Assist in setting up and breaking down the bar area before and after shifts.
    • Qualifications:

    • 21 and over

    • Previous experience as a bartender or in a related customer service role preferred.

    • Knowledge of alcoholic beverages, cocktails, and drink preparation techniques.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

    • Must be of legal drinking age and possess any necessary bartending certifications.

    • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

    • Working Conditions:

    • Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume bar setting.

    • Compensation:$5 per hour plus tips.
