ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (A summary of the purpose of the position)

Responsible for performing preventive/predictive maintenance and carrying out repairs, installations, and/or reprogramming of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment; such as motors, tools, and/or pneumatic or hydraulic systems, conveyor belt systems, production machinery, and related systems involved in the operation, according to the manufacturer's instructions and specifications. The role requires performing these tasks with precision and efficiency to ensure that the equipment and systems continue operating without interruption.

Responsibilities:

• Must be trained to operate and understand personal computers, computerized processes, and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) to determine repair and/or maintenance needs and to operate equipment to verify proper functionality.

• Observes mechanical and electrical parts and components in operation, listening to sounds to locate problem areas that may affect operations.

• Disassembles parts and components of machinery to inspect them or removes defective parts and installs functioning ones.

• Examines the shape and texture of parts and mechanical components to detect imperfections.

• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.

• Adjusts functional parts, components, and control instruments.

• Repairs and replaces defective or damaged parts according to the manufacturer’s specifications and instructions. Installs functional parts and/or components.

• Cleans, polishes, and lubricates machinery (inside and out) in accordance with the preventive maintenance schedule.

• Tests parts, components, and equipment to verify proper functioning according to the manufacturer’s specifications and instructions. If necessary, reprograms electronic or computer systems.

• Installs and repairs electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and machinery, and/or reprograms such equipment if needed to ensure proper operation.

• Tests, maintains, and evaluates the performance of equipment and machinery using the necessary and appropriate tools.

• Keeps the necessary preventive maintenance records of machinery and ensures compliance with the preventive maintenance schedule, evaluating the data generated by the systems.

• Must be available to respond to any system interruptions and be present at the plant to resolve any situation that may arise and could affect operations.

• Properly uses safety and personal protection equipment.

• Keeps licenses, permits, and/or required certifications up to date in accordance with established rules, policies, and regulations.

• Carries out tasks in compliance with health and occupational safety rules, good manufacturing practices, food safety, and the procedures established by the Company and/or regulatory agencies.

• Follows the work schedule established by their supervisor.

• Keeps the assigned work area clean and organized.

• Other tasks may be assigned based on operational needs.

Educational requirements:

• Associate Degree in Electronics, Electricity, and/or Industrial Mechanics.

• Four years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.

• Licensed Master Electrician, training certification in Lockout/Tagout procedures.

• Training in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) principles.
