Job Summary

Adjunct faculty members facilitate students' achievement of course objectives and prepare students to matriculate through the programs at the undergraduate and graduate level. Prepare and submit syllabi, grades and other required documentation in a timely manner.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to university policy and course schedules.

  • Attend faculty meetings as scheduled.

  • Communicate any concerns with program coordinator or director.

  • Communicate course requirements to students, be available for support, report grades in a timely manner, and other documentation as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited university.

  2. Current Licensure (LMSW/LCSW).

  3. Ability to teach effectively (both online and in traditional settings) at the university level in an undergraduate and graduate Social Work program.

  4. Uphold the mission and values of the School of Social Work.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. Willingness to embrace changes in a growing department and professional school.

  2. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member.

  3. Demonstrates an ability to transform and extend knowledge, not just transmit it by encouraging learning through understanding.

  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Doctoral degree in Social Work from an accredited university.

  2. LMSW

  3. Teaching, mentoring, and service experience at the university level.

  4. Experience with online course delivery and instruction.

  5. Experience with Canvas and ZOOM technology.
