Reference #: f062fa9b-48f0-4d33-bc91-35dd91789017 Description Diesel Technician II Description This is a night shift position. Scheduled days are Sunday & Monday 18:30-5:00 am and Thursday and Friday 18:30-5:00 am Description Perform routine maintenance and repair services on PV transports fleet of vehicles as well as 3rd party maintenance. The primary purpose of the Diesel Mechanic is to perform mechanical troubleshooting and repair related to diesel truck equipment. Essential Functions

Perform regular and preventative maintenance and repair duties Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, pressure gauges and mutimeter Adjust and repair, with some assistance, various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Power steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, wheel seals, suspension, hydraulics, pneumatics, wheel seals, manual alignments, understanding of 12/24 VDC etc. Understanding of refrigeration Use basic hand tools, precision instruments, as well as power tools, welding equipment, and jacks. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly. Ability to teach/mentor diesel mechanics in basic repair, diagnostic functions. Be able to assist drivers on the road via phone Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor Demonstrated commitment to safety Ability to work a holiday and weekend rotation Others duties as designated Position Qualifications Education- High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED) and/or vocational degree Experience- 5-7 years of practical diesel repair experience Skills & Abilities Basic computer skills Good mechanical aptitude The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools Good hand eye coordination Proficiency in the use of shop tools required (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools) Certificates & Licenses CDLA, 609 (type 1), State Inspection Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of components (engines, transmissions, clutches, ABS, Air Conditioning, refrigeration, welding, suspension, wheel bearing) Valid driver's license required. Safe driver history/record required for insurance and liability reason. State inspection license (or ability to obtain within one year) Other Requirements

Must supply own tools, garage will supply specialty tools Must be able to read and understand English Ability to follow oral and written communication Physical Requirements Lift and move up to 100lbs Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception) Sense of sound (must be aware of traffic noises, horns) Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Safety shoes Ability to work in confined spaces, non-claustrophobic Ability to Climb, not afraid of heights
