Job Description

This candidate will be working as a Controller supporting a large regional utilities/construction company that is based near Huntsville, AL, as well as their sister company in Disaster Recovery located in West Palm Beach, FL. The company in West Palm was recently acquired, and they need someone to help implement and set up a new accounting system. They will report up to the president of the acquired company and have a dotted line to the CFO. They will be responsible for basic GAAP accounting, setting up their cost accounting, reconciling their balance sheets, month end, quarter end, and year end closings, as well as accounting journal entries. There will be clerical staff underneath them to help, but the controller will be ultimately responsible for the new systems. They use Quickbooks online currently but will use an ERP system eventually. The salary range is between $120,000-$140,000 depending on experience.

Skills and Requirements

At least 1-2 years working at a Controller level

Experience within Cost Accounting and GAAP accounting

Experience reconciling balance sheets

Experience with month end, quarter end, and year end closings

Ability to travel monthly to either West Palm Beach, FL, or Hartselle, AL Experience setting up a new accounting system

Construction, Utilities, or Disaster Recovery background null
