Job Description Summary

Fancy being part of building the biggest Offshore Wind Farm in the world, look no further. Offshore Wind is looking for a Project/Business Management Apprentice to join our team based in Able Seaton Port to complete a 2 Year Apprenticeship with fully funded study leave. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week (which includes half a day at college).

Reporting to the site Construction Manager, the candidate will support the Doggerbank project management team of GE Renewable Energy/Wind Offshore as Project/Business Management Apprentice. The aim is to gain knowledge and experience throughout the trainee scheme adding value to GE along with progress.

The Project/Business Management Apprentice shall Comply with Group confidentiality and information security policies at all times and Be aware of health and safety in your area of responsibility in line with the relevant section(s) of the relevant Health and Safety Policy and regulations.

Job Description

The Project/Business Management Apprentice will be working closely with the project leadership team on the Dogger Bank project to ensure on-time, safe delivery of the project. Activities will include but not limited to:

  1. EHS Management

  2. Quality Management

  3. Contract Management

  4. Logistics / Transportation Management

  5. Finance / cost control.

  6. He/she will also be required to work with multiple project leaders and assist senior project managers in overseeing schedules and milestone management. They will obtain weekly project status from all team members and assist in the measurement of project performance, to suggest areas of improvement.

Whilst also learn how to:

• Implement and improve the project management mechanisms

• Prepare and assist in project documentation

• Document resource needs and availability

• Identify project scope, risks, constraints, dependencies, assumptions, and deadlines.

• Keep track of the project costs.

• Provide consistent reports and updates on the project to all stakeholders

Candidate should also have:

A willingness to attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.

To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate.

To be good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team.

To be willing to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks and able to manage their own workload and to support others when needed.

Ability to analyse and process technical data.

Good and confident communication and interpersonal skills.

Well organised; flexible, committed, enthusiastic and innovative.

A good working knowledge of Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software packages. Able to use Microsoft packages including Word and Outlook.

Able to show initiative and act proactively

In possession of a full UK driver's license (varies from company to company based on sites and office location).

The location for this role is onsite , based in Hartlepool (Northeast England, UK). You must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the 2-year contract. Relocation fees and visa support will not be provided for the role.
