Job Description Summary

Fancy being part of building the biggest Offshore Wind Farm in the world, look no further. Offshore Wind is looking for a Contract Administrator Apprentice to join our team based in Able Seaton Port to complete a 2 Year Apprenticeship with fully funded study leave. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week (which includes half a day at college).

The Contract Administrator Apprentice will report to the Site Contract Manager and will be responsible for assisting to compile, organise and analyse proper records on claim/variations management as well as on valuation of performed work (GE’s subcontractors). The aim is to gain knowledge and experience throughout the apprenticeship scheme adding value to GE along with progress.

The Contract Administrator Apprentice shall Comply with Group confidentiality and information security policies at all times and be aware of health and safety in your area of responsibility in line with the relevant section(s) of the relevant Health and Safety Policy and regulations.

Job Description

The role involves:

  • Assisting Contract Management and any other Project member with the maintenance of good records and data relevant on any claim and/or variation exercise (Variations originated in Marshalling Harbour or in the Offshore site).

  • Assisting Contract Management (Project CM and Site CM) and Project Planning in the collation and analysation of offshore and onshore data to track and document adverse events (including adverse weather) in defence of Liquidated damages and creation prolongation claims, or in any other claim management exercise including Insurance claims.

  • Assisting on alignment between the onshore and offshore DPRs is essential (liaison with Site PM, Installation WPMs, Commissioning WPMs). Working with the company tools and programs to report and measure events, manhours, etc.,

  • Assisting Contract Management in preparing reports and claims and reviewing applications for payment. Create and maintain claim dashboards and metrics.

  • Assisting the Project team to undertake financial checks and maintain financial controls and monitor Key subcontract costs against budget.

  • Assisting Contract Management in administration matters. Attend and be responsible for minutes of any contract, progress and other related meetings relating to the works.

Candidate should also have:

  • A willingness to study at college and further develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.

  • To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate.

  • To be good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team.

  • To be willing to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks and able to manage their own workload and to support others when needed.

  • Ability to analyse and process technical data.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Well organised; flexible, committed, enthusiastic and innovative.

  • A good working knowledge of Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software. Able to use Microsoft packages including Word and Outlook.

  • ​​Able to show initiative and act proactively

  • In possession of a full UK driver’s license (varies from company to company based on sites and office location)
