Job Title: Setup Machinist

Job Description

Operate a variety of CNC machining centers and turning centers, ensuring precision and accuracy in machining parts. Work with tight tolerances, using gauges, calipers, and micrometers to document results and ensure quality. Position, align, and secure workpieces, and use locating fixtures as needed. Select and prepare tools to meet varying conditions and materials.

  • Work with tight tolerances on parts, checking work with gauges, calipers, and micrometers.

  • Position, align, and secure workpieces.

  • Use locating fixtures when required.

  • Select and prepare tools to meet varying conditions and materials.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in operating CNC machining centers and turning centers.

  • Ability to work with tight tolerances on parts.

  • Skilled in using gauges, calipers, and micrometers.

  • Experience with positioning, aligning, and securing workpieces.

  • Knowledge of selecting and preparing tools for different conditions and materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC Vertical, CNC Horizontal, and CNC Turning machining centers.

  • Familiarity with brands such as Mazak, Makino, Puma, Hyundai Kia/Wia, and Haas.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Work Environment

Work in a machine shop environment on the 1st shift from 7am to 3:30pm. The facility is equipped with advanced CNC machining centers and turning centers, including brands such as Mazak, Makino, Puma, Hyundai Kia/Wia, and Haas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Direct Hire position based out of Hartland, Wisconsin.
