Robert Half Staff Accountant in Hartford, Connecticut

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Hartford, Connecticut. This role involves tasks related to bank reconciliations, general ledger upkeep, and financial reporting. You will be required to ensure accuracy and consistency in our financial records, and address any discrepancies promptly.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the reconciliation of lockboxes and ensure deposits are accurately recorded.

• Utilize accounting software for reconciliations, transitioning from Excel-based reconciliations.

• Analyze discrepancies in entries for correct coding and classification.

• Investigate root causes of discrepancies, ensuring deposits are allocated correctly, particularly when issues arise.

• Maintain accurate records of customer credit applications.

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on account status.

• Assist in the month-end close process by preparing journal entries.

• Use your skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to maintain detailed financial records.

• Leverage your experience with Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, and NetSuite to efficiently process and record transactions. Requirements • Possess proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Able to conduct Bank Reconciliations with accuracy and efficiency

• Familiarity with General Ledger management and maintenance

• Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries

• Experience in managing Month End Close processes

• Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting functions

• Knowledge and experience in using Oracle for various accounting tasks

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting and financial management

• Experience in working with SAP for financial and accounting functions

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred

• Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus

• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
