Position Title and Summary: (IC4) Investigator, Global Physical Security – Security Risk and Investigations

Position Location:

This role will primarily be responsible for conducting general investigations and preliminary inquiries of theft, lost and stolen property, found property, property damage, policy violations, health and safety issues, suspicious events, or any incident, event or related task as directed at the discretion of the Senior Director of Security Risk and Investigations that may include but is not limited to; theft, workplace violence, insider threats, inappropriate pursuers, revenue and business resiliency, other items that could be suspicious or criminal in nature.

The role will responsible for documenting findings and insights in written reports, investigative files and case notes.

The position is responsible for protecting employees, property, and the safety and security of employees, clients, contractors and customers through the implementation of investigations, policies, procedures, plans and training as they apply to physical security and investigations.

The role will conduct investigations, and inquires, security related risk assessments and other investigations conducted by members of Global Physical Security. The position requires some global travel and a valid U.S. Passport. The qualified candidate will report directly to the Director of Investigations who reports to the Senior Director of Security Risk & Investigations of GPS. The Investigations role may interface with executives, Legal, Human Resources, other lines of business and external and internal clients. This position will ensure that all needs and expectations of the aforementioned groups are met with high quality, industry standards, programs and services.

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts all types of general investigations globally

  • Maintains investigations files, reports, notes and database as well as other analytical tools to monitor and track trends

  • Aids the Director of Investigations in managing the case management system

  • Liaisons with Oracle partners, peers, colleagues and others at the discretion and direction of the Director Investigations of GPS.

  • Be flexible with work hours to respond to urgent issues and the situational needs and requirements of the workload.

  • Maintain strict discretion and confidentiality.

  • Work both independently and with other investigators on initiatives for security and investigative enhancements and process improvements.

  • Liaisons with external industry resources, federal, state and local law enforcement (e.g. military, first responders, federal agencies, professional associations and industry peers)

  • At the discretion of the Director of Investigations interacts with Regional Directors, and Managers and others as needed.

Requirements:

  • A qualified candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial security or law enforcement

  • A strong understanding of industry specific legislation and compliance requirements

  • 2 years experience in conducting complex investigations

  • Ability to communicate and articulate effectively in both written and verbal format

  • A basic or greater understanding of interview techniques

  • A basic or greater understanding of report writing

  • A basic or greater understanding or and experience in testifying in court or legal depositions

  • Understanding of Social Media platforms

  • Proficiency with Microsoft- Word, Publisher, Power Point and Excel

Scope of Responsibility, Impact of Decisions:

  • The Investigations role and scope of responsibility will be global in nature

  • Decisions impact is moderate

  • This role is an individual contributor IC level with a high degree of responsibility

  • This position will report directly to the Director of Investigations GPS

Process and Methodology used to Perform Job:

  • This position will develop strategy, lead collaborative teams and resources to successful performance

  • Conduct analyses of business needs and identify programs & services required to meet those needs

  • The successful candidate will provide education and professional development guidance to directors, managers, clients and other resources as required

Additional Information:

  • This position requires moderate travel globally

  • This position requires positive partnership skills, effective communications, and positive human relations in business capabilities

  • This position must be able to perform the full range of strategic business planning objectives, to tactical processes, procedures and business analytics

Education and or Experience:

  • An AA, AS, BA or BS Degree is desired but not required

  • Industry certifications are preferable but not required (e.g. PCI, APP, PSP, CPP, CTM)

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $70,600 to $141,300 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
