Advancing Connecticut Together (ACT) Program Manager in Hartford, Connecticut

Title: Program Manager-Bank On/CT Money School/Financial Coaching programs

Employment Status: Full-Time, 35hrs

Salary: $50,000-53,000 (exempt)

Reports to: Chief Program Officer

Summary:The Connecticut Association for Human Services (CAHS), a division of Advancing Connecticut Together (ACT), seeks a full-time Program Manager to coordinate and promote financial education and asset building initiatives statewide. Responsibilities: (including, but not limited to)

  • Manage and support existing program staff of CT Money School and Financial Coaching building programs to empower low-income people to achieve financial stability.
  • Program Administration: Design Bank On Coalition strategy, manage Bank On, CT Money School and Financial Coaching.
  • Bank On Coalition Management: Cultivate new and existing relationships with local, regional, and national partners.
  • Data: Track, analyze and report data about Bank On, CT Money School and Financial Coaching activities.
  • Maintain positive relationships with funders, including progress and outcomes reports, and periodic meetings.
  • Seek and secure funding (grant applications and prospect research and cultivation), in concert with Program Director and grant writer, to maintain and expand our Asset Building programs.
  • Support the professional development of program staff through daily support and expanded training, workshop, and conference attendance.
  • Support internal communications among staff and build positive organizational culture.
  • Work with ACT staff as a team member to build policy-informed programs and program-informed policy.

Qualifications:

  • Deep relationships/network with community, including financial institutions, community-based organizations and local government strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial empowerment issues including banking, mainstream financial products, and Community Reinvestment Act preferred.
  • Familiarity with challenges facing unbanked/underbanked individuals preferred.
  • Strong background in community organizing, coalition management, or multi-sector collaboration required.
  • Experience with public speaking and communications experience required.
  • Experience in grant writing/budget management preferred.
  • Ideally bilingual, speaking English as well as Spanish.
  • Ability to use a client management database.
  • Be knowledgeable about credit, debt, and money management; savings and investment options; and safe financial products and services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as Google Drive applications.
  • Available to work some evenings and weekends.

Location: Hybrid- Remote and Office
