Job Summary: Ensure the successful implementation of the Philanthropy Department’s mission and goals through the active management of a prospect portfolio of current and prospective donors ranging from mid-level to major gifts. Responsible for Major Gifts activities, managing a Prospect Portfolio, and enhancing the Grateful Patient Program. This MGO role will cover philanthropic development within Hartford Hospital and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, and carry a portfolio make up of prospects with affinity towards both and/or either hospital. * * Job Responsibilities Major Gifts & Planned Giving– Working with the Director of Philanthropy and Philanthropy Leadership, to develop and incorporate strategic and creative ways to broaden and further strengthen major gifts activities within Hartford Hospital and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital equally. Cultivate prospects for Blended Gift strategies to secure Annual, Major, and Planned giving. Responsible for direct solicitation securing major gifts of 5-6 figures, handling a robust fundraising portfolio of donors, and cultivating prospects who have the capacity to increase their giving to seven figure gifts. Responsible for developing targeted strategies for major gift solicitation in alignment with Hartford Hospital, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and HHC system strategic priorities. Also, will use Raiser’s Edge NXT (RE) database to maintain records of all prospect/donor interactions in order to track, evaluate and present giving information. Responsible for identifying, creating, and leveraging tailored gatherings to further advance relationships with prospects through moves management strategies. Prospect Portfolio – Working in concert with the Philanthropy Team, will strengthen the Annual Campaign as a source to develop prospective major and planned gift donors. Responsible for the development and management of a portfolio of approximately 150 mid-level and major gift donors and demonstrate effectiveness in soliciting prospects in order to garner increased support and advancement to a higher level. Solicit, cultivate and steward prospects in a portfolio and effectively manage relationships. Grateful Patient Program – Act as Philanthropy liaison to Assigned Divisions and Institutes within HH and CHH. Partner with colleagues, administrative staff, clinical staff and Philanthropy staff members to enhance the Grateful Patient Program. Contact, solicit, cultivate, visit and steward grateful patient donors. Act as a liaison to key hospital staff to promote the Program which will include, attending staff meetings, and making visits to patients and/or family members. * Bachelors degree. * Minimum of five years professional development or related experience. Significant development experience in direct solicitation securing major gifts of 5-6 figures. Demonstrated understanding of all core components of development, including grant writing, corporatepartnerships/funding, individual giving and stewardship, and annual and online giving campaigns.
