Aerotek E2 Electrician in Hartford, Connecticut

Job Title: Licensed Electrician (E1 or E2)

Job Description

We are seeking a licensed electrician with E1 or E2 qualifications to join our team and provide electrical services at the University of Hartford campus. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs in various buildings, including classrooms, lecture halls, dining halls, and dormitories. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously after initial training and will handle a variety of electrical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical services and repairs across approximately 40 buildings on the University of Hartford campus.

  • Work on a variety of tasks in main buildings such as classrooms, lecture halls, dining halls, and dormitories.

  • Replace batteries as needed.

  • Service small kitchen appliances within dining areas.

  • Troubleshoot and rewire food prep equipment.

  • Run wire to install new conduits and switches.

  • Perform preventative maintenance work orders.

  • Communicate effectively with faculty and students while performing services on-site.

Essential Skills

  • E1 or E2 electrical license.

  • Proficiency in electrical work, including conduit, wiring, troubleshooting, and blueprint reading.

  • Ability to pull wire and bend conduit.

  • Experience in service work on existing appliances, with no full installs or construction work required.

  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance work orders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting water heaters is a plus.

  • Experience with repairs and installs is a plus.

  • Good communication skills are essential for working on-site with faculty and students.

  • A good personality is required to represent the company positively.

Work Environment

Work on the University of Hartford campus, which includes over 40 buildings. The work schedule includes two shifts: Sunday to Thursday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, and Tuesday to Saturday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Hartford, Connecticut.
