PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Accountant is responsible for various financial functions, including processing and recording all assigned financial transactions in the general ledger, analyzing and preparing monthly actual-to-budget financial reports, and assisting with annual audit and 990 activities. This position supports the agency’s accounting, budgeting, forecasting, receivables, payables, grant management, program services, and annual audit functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate and timely financial records by entering, processing, and reconciling transactions following established procedures.

  • Complete monthly assigned account reconciliations, analytical reviews, and financial reporting accurately and timely.

  • Support grant management function through monthly billing and monitoring of grant revenue and expense.

  • Assist in preparing the agency’s annual operating, capital, and program budgets.

  • Support the annual audit and 990 preparations.

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Club staff, Development staff, service providers, and vendors.

  • Monitor day-to-day accounting and administrative processes to identify opportunities for quality improvement.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by the VP of Finance.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting.

  • Experience in not-for-profit or for-profit companies in an accounting capacity, with a minimum of five to ten years of experience.

  • Experience using NetSuite accounting software or other popular computerized accounting system.

  • Advanced computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.

  • Knowledge of GAAP required with not-for-profit principles, standards, and practices a plus.

  • Knowledge of federal and state government cost standards a plus.

Salary Description

$55,000 - $75,000
