University of Virginia Provider Relations Representative - Greater Charlottesville, Augusta, Harrisonburg Area in Harrisonburg, Virginia

The Provider Relations Representative is responsible for developing and growing relationships with faculty, community and independent health care providers and practices in UVA Health’s priority markets in order to drive referrals to UVA Health. The Representative enhances communication and acts as a key resource between referring providers and UVA specialists, facilitating referrals by providing information on new clinical programs, services, clinical trials and new faculty.

Reporting to the Director, Provider Relations & Outreach Services, the Representative is expected to leverage referral and market data to develop outreach strategies and target lists, as well as identify new business opportunities that strengthen market share through retention and growth of referral networks. This position will cover a specific territory and the candidate must be willing to live in or travel to the market on a regular basis and as business needs require.

  • Work closely with UVA Health Strategy and Service Line teams to align outreach activities with overall UVA Health enterprise strategy and business objectives and identify/respond to new business opportunities.

  • Develop a deep and strategic understanding of the assigned healthcare/provider market

  • Develop and foster collaborative relationships across UVA Health and referring providers to facilitate increased physician referrals.

  • Leverage data and relationship management tools, including PRM, to develop outreach strategies and target lists and to manage/document ongoing physician outreach activity.

  • Monitor market activity and dynamics in the provider community; apply learnings to outreach strategy and regularly report on market/competitive intelligence.

  • Communicate and elevate trends in service, communications and operational barriers expressed by referring physicians that affect ability to develop and nurture loyal referring relationships.

  • Demonstrate the highest level of customer service and partnership.

  • Communicate UVA Health differentiators and highlight new programs, services, providers to drive referrals.

  • Collaborate with internal teams on messaging strategy and development of specialty marketing materials to address prospective clinical partnership needs.

  • Support and attend provider events such as conferences, meetings, forums and networking opportunities.

  • Continually develop medical and disease state knowledge to effectively engage with healthcare professionals.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $70,595.20 - $112,944.00 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.

Experience: 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity or in a client relations position in a healthcare organization.

Licensure: Valid Driver's License (VADL).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The job is primarily a geographical field based position that requires 70-80% local/regional travel weekly. The job does require some travel outside of the assigned geographical territory to attend meetings and programs. This job requires extensive use of computers and related technology.
