S&L Snow Removal Groundskeeper in Harrison Township, Michigan

S&L Snow Removal is seeking to fill ten (10) temporary, full-time seasonal Groundskeeper positions for October 1, 2024 to April 15, 2025. Worksite address: 51200 Milano Dr, Macomb, MI 48042 and client properties in Oakland, Wayne, Lapeer, and Macomb counties.

Job Duties: Shovel snow, grounds maintenance, such as litter cleanup and winterization of irrigation systems, and other duties as assigned related to facilities and roads maintenance, such as clearing roads and facilities of leaves, snow, or debris using hand tools or power equipment including but not limited to rakes, shovels, and snow/leaf blowers. Potential for fall and spring clean-up. De-icing and removal of snow from walks, driveways and parking lots for various residential and commercial properties, using hand tools such as snow brooms, shovels, and spreading de-icing solutions, including calcium chloride or rock salt by hand. May also use walk behind electric or gas snow blowers, as needed. A driver's license is not required. If a worker has a noncommercial driver's license, they may drive a crew vehicle as needed..

Requirements: No education or experience required.

Special Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Must be able to perform physical labor outdoors for at least 8 hours per day in all weather conditions, including cold, heat, and rain.

Terms and conditions of employment: $17.55/hour, 35 hours/week, Overtime available at $26.33 per hour. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure. Mon-Fri, 7:00AM-5:00PM. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Employees will be paid weekly on Friday. Workers will be provided with daily transportation to and from the worksite in compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations. On the job training available. Workers will be provided, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Workers will travel from the worksite address to commercial and private properties throughout Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties to perform services. Workers will be transported to daily worksite to client properties and will be transported back to the worksite at the end of the work day.

Employer will make all deductions required by law and no others without written consent from worker. The employer does not envision other workforce-wide payroll deductions. Potential elective deductions to be pre-authorized in writing if applicable are as follows: If requested, employer helps non-local workers secure optional worker-paid lodging. Employer deducts reasonable fair market value cost of rent/utilities based on number of occupants for workers electing to reside in employer-provided housing (cost TBD up to $100 per pay period). No daily transportation to/from workers' home and primary worksite. Employer to provide first set of company shirts, sweatshirts, jackets free of charge. Option to purchase additional uniform clothing which can be deducted from payroll.
