Position Summary and Purpose: The Software Product Manager will work closely with our Software Engineering, Marketing and Sales teams to ensure excellent product delivery. They must develop a wealth of knowledge about Cincinnati Incorporated's software products and be able to identify opportunities, develop sales, understand price and profitability strategies, recommend improvements, and increase revenue.  Strong customer service and analytical skills are a must, as their core focus is to translate business strategies and market opportunities into technical requirements while managing the product throughout each stage of its life. 

Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL:

  • Translate the Voice of the Customer into product specifications that meet the needs of the market
  • Work with Executive Management and Software Engineering to develop new products and enhancements to existing products that are technically and commercially competitive
  • Translate product specification into effective feature/benefit sales collateral materials
  • Train the Field Sales organization on product technology and sales techniques
  • Develop a competitive landscape database on key competitors
  • Provide technical sales support to the Field Sales Support directly or through Product Specialists
  • Provide pre-sale and post-sale application support through Application Specialist
  • Coordinate activities with Partners who supply ancillary products sold with our products
  • Coordinate activities with the Sales Manager and Marketing Manager to ensure joint activities are aligned with Company goals and objectives
  • Coordinate activities with Software Engineering relating to product testing
  • Work with Field Service to resolve customer product related issues
  • Responsible for directing the work of other team members
  • Participate in Strategic Planning initiatives and M16 process

VALUED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

  • Ability to operate CI products including press brakes and lasers
  • Participate in local trade associations

Education and Experience

REQUIRED:

  • Experience as Product Manager, Product Specialist or Sales Engineer

VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Degree in engineering or technical field
  • Previous experience in sales or marketing of machine tool software

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Characteristics, etc.

  • Strong customer orientation
  • Familiar and comfortable with computers, email, Windows operating system, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Familiar and comfortable with CAD/CAM software
  • Good communications skills: both written and verbal
  • A commitment to company Core Values

VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Familiar with CRM, databases, ERP/MRP, IIoT, Industry 4.0
  • Familiar with solid modeling systems
