Reference #: 4360164 THE POSITION Governor Shapiro's Research Department is seeking a highly motivated research associate to join our team! Research associates collaborate with the Director of Research and various other departments in the Governor's Office to assist in the completion of long-term, short-term, and rapid-response research projects. DESCRIPTION OF WORK You will thrive in this role if you love variety in your workday. In addition to assisting with various research projects, you will flex your critical thinking and top-notch communication skills to: Manage the department's vetting program Identify, track, and catalogue the Shapiro Administration's actions and impact through traditional news and social media monitoring, clipping, and transcribing Write research memos about policy issues, breaking news, and other topics. Collaborate with the Governor's Communications, Advance, External Affairs, Digital Strategy, and Public Affairs Offices, providing background information to keep senior staff and the Governor ahead of events Assis the Director of Research in other projects and tasks as necessary Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Given the always-on nature of the Governor's Office, work outside of these hours is expected, when needed. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 1 day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of 2 years of research experience in political, journalism, legal, policy, and/or communication roles. Additional Requirements:

You must have sharp judgment and instincts, with an awareness of current issues and news. You must have exceptional organizational skills to stay on top of work with multiple priorities and frequently changing deadlines. You must have strong writing skills, with the ability to break down complex issues into clear, concise writing. You must have accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
