DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Planning Administrator within the Bureau of Technological Hazards is responsible for a range of tasks in compliance with state and federal regulations. This leadership position plays a crucial role in overseeing Pennsylvania's Hazardous Materials programs and associated funding to maintain preparedness. Effective communication, collaboration with diverse stakeholders, and superior customer service abilities are essential for success. Moreover, a comprehensive understanding of hazardous materials, emergency management, and proficiency in computer and business management are imperative for this role.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

FREE on-site parking Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week, upon successful completion of a training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. In the event of an emergency/disaster situation or training exercise, this position may be required to travel, work up to 12-hour shifts, and work outside of the normal work hours, including weekends and overnights. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will receive the minimum starting salary listed on this posting.  The starting salary is non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of professional emergency-related planning experience and a master's degree in planning; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes two years of professional emergency-related planning experience. Other Requirements:

This particular position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
