DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Mortuary Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting funeral homes to ensure that proper licensure and possession of required equipment, materials, devices, and reference books are present and adequate, in addition to verifying that proper sanitary and safety procedures are being observed.  You will collect evidence and samples and conduct research utilizing public and private sources and databases.  This professional assists in the investigation of alleged violations in accordance with applicable law and established policy, and issues citations for infractions.  You may also testify at formal and informal hearings or appear as a witness for the state in formal court proceedings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Travel is required. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Ten years of experience as a funeral director.

Special Requirements: You must possess an active license to practice as a funeral director issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Funeral Directors.

Other Requirements: This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
